Cérémonie de signature en ligne du protocole d'accord entre la Bibliothèque Nationale du Vietnam et la Bibliothèque Nationale de Corée

Le 23 avril 2021, à Hanoi, Mme Kieu Thuy Nga, directrice de la Bibliothèque nationale du Vietnam et Mme Suh Hye Ran, directrice de la Bibliothèque nationale de Corée ont signé le protocole d’accord sur le programme “Fenêtre sur la Corée” période 2021-2025. La cérémonie de signature s’est tenue en ligne. Le projet “Fenêtre sur la Corée” conçu par la Bibliothèque nationale de Corée en 2007 a pour ambition de fournir des documents en coréen et en anglais présentant le pays et le peuple coréens dans de nombreux domaines, et en même temps soutenir la mise en place des espaces dédiés à leur utilisation dans certaines bibliothèques à travers le monde. Le projet est effectivement mis en oeuvre à la Bibliothèque nationale du Vietnam depuis 2007 sur la base du protocole d'accord signé entre la Bibliothèque nationale du Vietnam et la Bibliothèque nationale de Corée au cours des périodes 2007-2011 et 2016-2020. Pendant près de 15 ans, plus de 10 000 unités de documents imprimés et numériques sur une variété de sujets, en coréen et en anglais, ont été données par la Bibliothèque nationale de Corée à de nombreux lecteurs vietnamiens dans le cadre du programme.

In celebration of the Viet Nam Book and Reading Culture Day April 21st and the World Book and Copyright Day April 23rd, with the approval of leader of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MoCST), on April 16, 2021, the National Library of Viet Nam (NLV) in cooperation with agencies under ministries, departments, libraries, schools, international organizations, enterprises… organized the Book Festival 2021 with the theme: “Books – Mission for Reading Culture Development.”. Inheriting and promoting the successes of many years organizing the event, the Book Festival 2021 continues to be held to encourage and develop the reading movement in the community, affirm the position, role and importance of reading culture and value books in social life; honor those doing the work of collecting, composing, publishing, printing, distributing, storing and promoting books; raise awareness of the community about the great significance and importance of reading and developing reading culture for building a knowledge society towards building Vietnamese people being developed comprehensively...

 

Signing working coordination program between the Authority of Publication, Printing and Distribution and the National Library of Viet Nam

To effectively implement the plan of the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MoCST) on implementing the strategy for developing reading culture, on the morning of April 15, 2021, the signing ceremony of cooperation program between the Authority of Publication, Printing and Distribution (APPD) and the National Library of Viet Nam (NLV) took place at the NLV. Attending the signing ceremony were Ms. Trinh Thi Thuy – Deputy Minister of the MoCST; Mr. Hoang Vinh Bao - Deputy Minister of the MIC; Mr. Nguyen Nguyen – Director of the APPD; Ms. Kieu Thuy Nga – Director of the NLV; leadership representative of the Library Department, Vietnamese Library Association and representatives of agencies under the MIC and the MoCST. On the morning of April 7, 2021, the French Embassy in Viet Nam cooperated with the National Library of Viet Nam to hold the opening ceremony of the France-Viet Nam Information Portal/Hoa Phuong Vi Digital Library. Mr. Nicolas Warnery, Ambassador of the French Republic to Viet Nam and Ms. Kieu Thuy Nga, Director of the National Library of Viet Nam co-chaired the ceremony. Attending the event, there were Ms. Trinh Thi Thuy, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism); Ms. Nguyen Phuong Hoa, Director of International Cooperation Department, Mr. Pham Quoc Hung, Director of Library Department (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism); Mr. Tran Dac Hien, Director of National Agency for Science and Technology – Ministry of Science and Technology, Mr. Michael Croft, UNESCO Representative to Viet Nam, Mr. Philippe Le Failler, Representative of the French School of the Far East in Ha Noi. Also attending the event were leaders of libraries, research institutes and bookstores in Ha Noi, representatives of central and Ha Noi press and television agencies.

 

Ambassador of French Republic visits the National Library of Viet Nam

On the morning of March 24, 2021, Mr. Nicolas Warnery, Ambassador of the French Republic to Viet Nam visited the National Library of Viet Nam (NLV), Ms. Kieu Thuy Nga, NLV Director received the delegation. At the meeting, the Director extended the Ambassador a warm welcome and took the time to introduce an overview of the history of the NLV’s establishment and development over the past century, gave a brief overview about the diverse collections of the library and outlined the architectural features of the building as well as the reading rooms and storage system of the Library. Ambassador Nicolas Warnery sincerely thanked Ms. Kieu Thuy Nga for taking time to welcome and introduce the Library. He was impressed by the development results that the NLV has achieved during the last years and said that the two peoples of France and Viet Nam also have many similarities such as the love for books and literary works as well as the respect for authors and scholars.
