Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s Party reviews the 2011 activities and launches tasks for 2012

In the morning of February 14, 2012, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s Party held a meeting to review its activities in 2011 and launch tasks for 2012. At the meeting, Mr. Lê Anh Thơ presented a report to review the  MoCST’s party activities in 2011, tasks and plans for 2012 which highlighted achievements in 2011 of the MoCST’s party such as effective implementation resolutions and instructions of the Central Party and its superior party committee: resolutions of the 11th Party Congress, instructions, resolutions and written guidances of the Party to build the united bloc for well performing all MoCST’s political tasks on culture, sports, tourism and family, election of the 13th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels term 2011 – 2016

 

Conference on deploying the working plan of culture, sports and tourism sector in 2012

On 9th February 2012, at Tuan Chau Island, Ha Long, Quang Ninh province, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam (MoCST) organized Conference on deploying the working plan of culture, sports and tourism sector in 2012. The MoCST has implemented the central tasks, keen on improving national management’s effectiveness, following the realities, resolving the limitations, making movements on strategic objects of the cultural, sports and tourism sector, achieved encourage achievements on culture, high score sports, tourism, cinema, fine arts, photography and exhibition, state management on families etc. Especially, in 2011, Vietnam. Especially, in the year 2011, Vietnam has many cultural sites been recognized as cultural heritage such as Citadel of Ho Dynasty (Thanh Hoa), Xoan singing (Phu Tho). Movement on the whole population united to build cultural life is promoted and improved on quality, coherence with building the new rural areas program.

 

Asia Foundation president Mr. David D.Arnold and his spouse had a working visit to the National Library of Vietnam

In the morning of  13th February 2012, Mr. David D.Arnold – President of the Asia Foundation from USA and his spouse visited and worked with National Library of Vietnam (NLV). At the meeting,  Mr. David D. Arnold highly appreciated the effort, enthusiasm and efforts of leaders and staff National Library of Vietnam in recent years have contributed to successes of the Books for Asia program. He also expressed his hopes that in the coming years, with the support of the National Library of Vietnam, the Books for Asia program will continue getting efficiency and maximize social efficiency.

 

Spring meeting in the new year of Dragon 2012 and signing of the agreement emulation

On January 8 of the lunar calendar (30th January 2012) National Library of Vietnam (NLV) hosted the spring meeting and the signing of the agreement emulation for executives and officials on the occasion of the Lunar New Year of the Dragon (2012). Also at the meeting in the new year, the Trade Union of the National Library of Vietnam launched the agreement emulation with the slogan “Tradition – Modern – Digital Library, creating the friendly environment for people to read and study in the whole life” including contents adhere to the library’s main tasks in 2012.

 

Minister of Information and Communications Nguyễn Bắc Son pays a visit to the National Library of Viet Nam and presents photographs to the Library

In the afternoon of January 20, 2012, the last working day of the Year 2011, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyễn Bắc Son paid a visit to the National Library of Viet Nam (NLV), wished the Directorial Board and staff of the NLV a Happy New Year and presented photographs to the Library.

The NLV operates under the management of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism but up to 85% of its national collection comes from Publishing Houses and Press Agencies of the Ministry of Information and Communications. With the functions to collect, preserve and promote the national culture written heritage, the NLV has established effective collaborations with Publishing Houses and Press Agencies throughout the country to collect the most sufficient publications in Viet Nam as well as publications about Viet Nam published overseas.
