From 17 -19 May 2016, ASEAN Digital Library 2nd Regional Meeting(ADL) has taken place at the National Library Board of Singapore (NLB) with participation of 10 ASEAN countries’ delegates. The digital library project is managed by Singaporean Library Council with the aim of connecting national libraries of ASEAN countries to share and contribute digital resource for ASEAN Community and the global. The main session of the Regional Meeting took place lively with reports and discussions from national libraries. In the morning of May 10, 2016 at the National Library of Viet Nam (NLV), Mrs. Clare O’Dwyer - Senior Library Manager of RMIT Viet Nam – has donated 100 titles of foreign books to NLV in order to support the Book Festival 2016. This is the second donation from RMIT Viet Nam during last 2 years. These 100 books including literary works of writers from Australia and in the world will be the valuable materials to support study and research of the library’s users.

From 09-11 March 2016, the 24th annual meeting of the Conference of Directors of National Libraries in Asia and Oceania (CDNL-AO) and the seminar “Adding value through international cooperation” has taken place at the National Library of New Zealand, Wellington with participation of 27 delegates representing 17 National Libraries in the region. Speaking at the Opening session of the conference, Minister of the Internal Affairs of New Zealand (Ministry in charge of the library sector) has highlighted the value of reflecting national identity of the cultural heritage documents which are currently preserved by national libraries and expressed his desire that national libraries in the region should further promote the accessibility to these heritage documents, especially to inspire and engage the youth in the heritage conservation and promotion activities in each country.
