In the afternoon of 24th September, 2015, the National Library of Vietnam (NLV) has solemnly held a Book Donation Reception from National Library Board, through the Embassy of Singapore in Vietnam. In recent years, Singapore and Vietnam have been conducted various operation activities towards constructing, developing two countries’ prosperity and ASEAN community’s sustainability. A lot of projects and agreements in such aspects: culture, education, science and technology have been signed and implemented by two countries’ institutions and organizations. In the framework of Project “Singapore 50: Gift of book project”, on the occasion of 50th Independence Day hosted by Singapore Government, there were 10,000 books donated to 40 countries around the world including Vietnam whose representative is the NLV with more than 300 copies received from Mr. Ng Teck Hean. This shall be the precious document helping the NLV’s readers learn more about the country, people, and culture of The Lion City, especially the books written about the well-known politician Lee Kuan Yew.
With the hope to further strengthening the relations of friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Iran for the last 40 years as well as creating opportunities for two countries’ citizens to learn about the cultures of both countries, in the morning of 15th September 2015, with the consent of Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MoCST), the National Library of Vietnam collaborated with the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Vietnam to solemnly hold an official opening of the Photo exhibition “Iran and history of diplomatic relations of Iran – Vietnam”. The exhibition has introduced 80 unique photographs of cities, historical monuments, buildings, the world of Iran’s famous traditional craft of the diplomatic relation between Vietnam and Iran through milestones marking visits of two countries’ senior leaders and some miniatures of philosophy, nature, and calligraphies of poems by Persian…
To celebrate the 70th Anniversary of Viet Nam’s first General Election Day (06/01/1946 – 06/01/2016), on the afternoon of January 4th, 2016, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) solemnly opened the exhibition of books, documents: “70 years of National Assembly of Viet Nam” at the National Library of Viet Nam (NLV). The exhibition displays more than 1.000 significant items which were selected out of over 2 million NLV’s items about National Assembly of Viet Nam, it aims to reappear the historical years, operation process and the great achievements that the National Assembly and Vietnamese people have achieved over 70 years. These documents mostly published as books, newspapers. Especially, documents of films and photos are considered as the very important, original evidences for the exploring, studying of the National Assembly, are also displayed at the event.
From 15th - 21st August, 2015, the 81st annual conference was held in Cape Town, South Africa by International Federation of library associations and institutions with the theme “Dynamic Libraries: Access, Development and Transformation”. There were 3,190 leaders and experts in the field of library and information from 112 countries around the world attending the conference. Dans le cadre du projet de don de livres en anglais par la Fondation Asie - période 2012-2015, le 17/07/2015, la Bibliothèque nationale du Vietnam (BNV) a organisé une cérémonie de remise de don de livres par la Fondation Asie aux écoles primaires de Hanoi. Ont assisté à la cérémonie M. Michael DiGregorio - Représentant en chef de la Fondation Asie au Vietnam; Mme Dinh Kieu Nhung – Première secrétaire de la Fondation Asie; Mme Nguyen Thi Mai Hoa – Directrice adjointe du Bureau Science - Technologie de l'information, du Service de l'Éducation et de la Formation de Hanoi; Mme Kieu Thuy Nga - Directrice de la Bibliothèque nationale du Vietnam; les dirigeants de 12 écoles primaires de Hanoi, les directeurs adjoints et les représentants des services de la BNV. Le projet de dons de livres aux bibliothèques vietnamiennes de la Fondation Asie au Vietnam a commencé en 1993. Avec la collaboration de la BNV, des dizaines de milliers d’exemplaires de livres, de logiciels et autres matériels pédagogiques les plus avancés ont été distribués à 177 établissements, comprenant les bibliothèques publiques, les bibliothèques spécialisées, les instituts de recherche, les bibliothèques universitaires et les écoles à travers le pays.
