Exhibition "Dien Bien Phu Victory through the material in the country and abroad”

In honor of the 124th Anniversary of birthday of President Ho Chi Minh and the 60th Anniversary of the historic victory of Dien Bien Phu , in the morning of 6th May 2014, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism opened the Exhibition "Dien Bien Phu Victory through the material in the country and abroad” at the National Library of Viet Nam. The exhibition Exhibition "Dien Bien Phu Victory through the material in the country and abroad” introduced more than 800 items including books, newspapers, excerpts, photos. They are organized according to five themes: Context of the Dien Bien Phu campaign; Evolution of the Dien Bien Phu campaign; President Ho Chi Minh, General Vo Nguyen Giap and the Dien Bien Phu campaign through foreign materials; Dien Bien Phu - Symbol of the Strength of Viet Nam; Movies archive on the Dien Bien Phu Victory.

 

Opening Book Festival Day 2014 "Book - From Past to Present"

In the morning of 20th April, the National Library of Viet Nam (NLV) opened the Book Festival Day 2014 on the theme "Book - From Past to Present" Mr. Huynh Vinh Ai – Vice Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Head of the Steering Committee of the Book Festival Day 2014 at the Temple of Literature and NLV; Mr. Truong Minh Tuan – Vice Minister of Information and Communication, Permanent Steering Committee of the Viet Nam Book Day 21st April, attended and kicked off the festival. A new feature in the Book Festival Day 2014 is identification of the authors, works, and characters Contest for visitors. Thanks to the ingenious in carnation of the classic literature of Viet Nam and the world by artists, the audience will remember and be able to update information, knowledge of authors, works and representative figure.

 

Meeting of the General Assembly of the Francophone Digital Network

On April 10, the General Assembly of the Francophone Digital Network met in Bern, capital of Switzerland. Under the chairmanship of Mr. Guy Berthiaume, Chairman and CEO of National Library and Archives of Quebec, Secretary General of Digital Francophone Network, representatives of 14 French-speaking countries highlighted the results achieved during the past year and discussed the action plan for this year. At the meeting, Sandra Coulibaly Leroy - representative of the International Organization of the Francophonie (OIF) re-affirmed the support of OIF for the protection and promotion of tangible and intangible heritage of the Francophone community. Digitalizing and sharing of resources contribute to the promotion of cultural exchanges, enhance mutual understanding and build a rich community identity.
