On March 3, 2015, the Signing Ceremony of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the National Library of Viet Nam (NLV) and University of Tsukuba, Japan has been held solemnly at University of Tsukuba under the witness of Management Board of the Faculty of Library, Information and Media, Graduate school in company with the Professors of University of Tsukuba and Director of the National Library of Viet Nam.
This is the third phase of cooperation between NLV and University of Tsukuba, Japan. After the signing ceremony, two Parties had a discussion about the implementation’s methods of bilateral cooperation activities in the period 2015 – 2020 base on a sense of goodwill and cooperation. The main cooperative areas will be the exchange of information, materials; experience discussion of projects, schemes for information – library profession; cooperation in training, staff exchange; developing research collaboration and organizing conferences, workshops, academic discussion in order to promote the development of the Library and Information profession in Viet Nam and Japan.
On the occasion of the business trip in Japan, the Director of NLV had presented for the managers, professors and students of Tsukuba University about preservation and upholding the written cultural heritage at libraries and archives in Viet Nam. The presentation was received the profound concerns from the audiences, especially those who is studying Asia and the Southeast Asia. Japanese friends highly appreciated the utmost and achievements of NLV as well as libraries and archives in Viet Nam in terms of preserving national cultural heritage and providing information for country’s development. Besides, the delegate also had a working visit at the National Diet Library, children literature international library, Tsukuba Library, Center Library of Tsukuba University and library of Faculty of Library, Information and Media. Those visits were organized thoughtfully with high treatment by the host. The Director of the National Diet Library highly appreciated the NLV’s high-level visit helped Two Parties had a chance to know each other as well as to discuss the bilateral cooperation methods in the future in order to promote the mutual development of the library, information profession.
