On the afternoon of November 14, 2022, the National Library of Viet Nam (NLV) in collaboration with the Embassy of Belarus to Viet Nam held the Opening Ceremony of the “Photo exhibition Famous sights in Belarus under the protection of UNESCO”. Ms. Kieu Thuy Nga – Director of the National Library of Viet Nam and Mr. Vladimir Baravikov – Ambassador of Belarus to Viet Nam co-chair the ceremony.
Attending the event, on the side of invited guest, there were: Ms. Nguyen Phuong Hoa – Director of the International Cooperation Department, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Giang – Head of the European Commission, Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations, representatives of leaders of agencies and units under the relevant ministries; Ambassadors, representatives of Embassies in Viet Nam; agencies under the central government and Ha Noi; news agencies, newspapers and television.
17 large-sized photos about Belarusian landmarks that are very popular with tourists and recognized by UNESCO were introduced at the exhibition, such as: Belovezhskaya Pushcha National Park since 1992 with rich flora and fauna; Struve geodesic arc since 2005; The Mir Castle Complex from the 16th century and the unique architectural complex of Radziwill in Nesvizh city. The exhibition has deeply portrayed Belarus as an independent sovereign state with more than a thousand years of history and carefully preserved national traditions on the basis of selective absorbing the quintessence of the world civilization.
The exhibition, held on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and Belarus (1992-2022), has affirmed the beautiful cooperation relationship between the National Library of Viet Nam and the Embassy of Belarus to Viet Nam over the past time, and at the same time contributed to enriching the cooperation in the field of culture in particular and the comprehensive partnership between the two countries in general. This is also an opportunity to help the public, readers and those attached to and loved Belarus to learn more about this country through images of nature and famous architecture preserved by UNESCO.
The exhibition takes place from November 14 to 20, 2022 at the National Library of Viet Nam, 31 Trang Thi St., Hoan Kiem Dist., Ha Noi.
