On the morning of September 1, 2020, at the National Library of Viet Nam (NLV), the Ministry of Information and Communications in collaboration with the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MoCST) held the opening of an online Book exhibition to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam (September 2,1945 - September 2, 2020). Mr. Hoang Vinh Bao - Deputy Minister of Information and Communications presided over the ceremony and delivered the speech to open the exhibition.
At the exhibition, the Authority of Publication, Printing and Distribution together with the Department of Press-Publication, the National Library of Viet Nam, the Department of Informatics, Viet Nam Post Corporation, Information and Communications Publishing House, V&V Technology Solution Development and Investment Joint Stock Company... introduce more than 1,000 documents, images and videos selected from publishing, distribution, library and museum institutions. In which, the NLV introduces 300 documents on the online application. The exhibition focuses on 5 contents: The struggle for national independence, national reunification and national defense; Communist Party of Viet Nam and President Ho Chi Minh; The country’s revolutionary achievements in the process of innovation, development and international integration; Achievements of the Viet Nam’s publishing industry; Stampset commemorating the 75th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam.
In addition to exhibiting documents, many exchange events and talks with speakers who are researchers, scientists and culturalists will also be held to exchange and introduce important historical milestones of the country.
Besides, in order to work together with bookmakers across the country to overcome difficulties caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, not to let the pandemic situation separate the love of books, to bring books to readers, a Book Fair was simultaneously held in the exhibition space with over 11,000 books of all kinds from nearly 50 publishing agencies and 10,000 free shipping orders provided to readers nationwide.
Through the application of modern communication technologies, creating a feeling of authenticity and vibrancy for viewers, the Exhibition will help readers foster the love for books, especially help the young ones learn more about national pride, patriotism, respect and gratitude for the achievements left by their fathers, well aware of the responsibility to the country, contributing to writing the nation heroic history page today and tomorrow. This is also an opportunity to introduce valuable books to domestic and foreign readers and to cinnect books with readers in cyberspace.
