On June 11, 1948, President Ho Chi Minh made the"Call for Patriotic Emulation" to encourage the entire party, army,and people to join hands to overcome all difficulties and successfullycompletetasks. That call has inspired millions of Vietnamese patriots who are not afraid to make sacrifices and hardships toenthusiastically emulateto promote production, join the resistance, and defend the Fatherland. As a "Proclamation", after 75 years, the summons remains valid with profound topicality. On the occasion of this important historical event, the National Library of VietNam (NLV) held the opening of the documentary Exhibition "Resounding the Call for Patriotic Emulation".
Attending the ceremony were Mr. Cao Duc Phat - Former Permanent Deputy Chair of the Central Economic Commission, Former Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development; Ms. Trinh Thi Thuy - Member of the Party Personnel Committee, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MoCST); Mr. Bui Hoai Son - Standing Member of the National Assembly Committee for Culture and Education; Mr. Dang Thanh Tung - Director General of the State Archives and Records Department, Ministry of Home Affairs; Mr. Dinh Van Thuan - Deputy Director of the Culture and Arts Department, Central Propaganda Department; Ms. Doan Quynh Dung - Deputy Director of the Library Department, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Mr. Nguyen Huu Gioi - President of Vietnamese Library Association, together with representatives of leaders of departments, offices and units under the Central Propaganda Department, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ministry of Information and Communications, Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Home Affairs; representatives of leaders of the Military Library, Hanoi Library, representatives of the special libraries system, university libraries, libraries of the armed forces, the public, readers and media agencies, press and television.
In the past 75 years, in response to the call of president Ho Chi Minh, at each revolutionary stage, our Party and State have always paid attention to building and promptly promulgating guidelines, policies and laws on patriotic emulation and launched many effective emulation movements suitable to the actual conditions of the country. From emulation movements, many typical individual and collective examples have been discovered, honored and replicated, so that emulation becomes a daily motivation for each person and the whole society.

Introduce materials about the great revolutionary life and career of President Ho Chi Minh; President Ho Chi Minh's thought on Patriotic Emulation; views of the Party and State on emulation and commendation activities... According to President Ho Chi Minh, whatever you do, you need to emulate. Emulation is attached to every person and "daily work is the foundation of emulation", he raised emulation to a high ideological level, associated emulation with patriotism and patriotism with emulation, making our people's patriotic emulation movement bear the identity of the Vietnamese people. On the basis of taking patriotism as the root, the content of President Ho Chi Minh's thought on patriotic emulation and the guiding views of the Party and State on emulation and commendation activities have contributed to bringing into play all potentials, resources and creativity of all classes of people.

Display materials about the birth, role and meaning of President Ho Chi Minh's Call for Patriotic Emulation; on patriotic emulation movements launched in the resistance wars against the French colonialists and American imperialists, in the construction of the socialism and in the period of renovation and international integration. In general, the emulation movements have attracted the participation of all people, families, industries, of all ages, and are constantly being renewed in content and form, with wide spread, closely following the political tasks of the country, closely associated with the interests and lives of the people, contributing to the successful implementation of development goals and plans in all fields.

3. Typical examples in patriotic emulation movements
Introduce materials about good people, good deeds, and exemplary role models in emulation movements; good ways of doing things, good experiences are spread in the social community; praising, rewarding and replicating exemplary role models in emulation movements... It can be affirmed that in life as well as in the process of production, study and work, the typical collectives and individuals always harmoniously combines the interests of the individual with the interests of the collective and the social community, always attached to the people, contributing effort and money to create more jobs, increase more income for employees ... at the same time constantly learning, diligently researching, experimenting, successfully implementing many scientific research projects, creating many products for production and life.

4. Patriotic emulation-the driving force for the development of the country and people of Vietnam
Display materials on emulation and commendation activities, contributing to the successful implementation of the Party's directives and resolutions and important national goals. Specifically, the successful implementation of the resistance war against the French colonialists and the American imperialists for the liberation of the South; building and consolidating the government after the country's reunification; carry out the renovation of the country with comprehensive changes in all fields from economy to culture - society; ensure security, national defense and protect the sovereignty of sea and islands. At the same time, it also upholds the role of emulation and commendation in promoting the strength, talent, intelligence, initiative... of Vietnamese people.

The documents and images displayed in the exhibition affirm the permanence of patriotic emulation spirit, contributing to propaganda and education about the role and great effects of the “Call for Patriotic Emulation” and the emulation movements for the great victories of the Vietnamese revolution, and at the same time promote the study and follow-up of Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality and style in association with the effective implementation of the patriotic emulation movements; raise awareness and responsibility of Party committees, authorities, socio-political organizations and people at all levels for organizing, mobilizing and responding to emulation movements in the period of promoting industrialization, modernization and international integration; honoring typical examples in patriotic emulation movements; summarizing, evaluating, fostering and replicating advanced examples and new factors in the whole society./.
