On the morning of February 26, 2021, at the National Library of Viet Nam, Ms. Kieu Thuy Nga – Director of the National Library of Viet Nam (NLV) had a meeting with Mr. Pham Quoc Hung – Director of the Library Department to discuss the coordination between the two institutions in implementing programs and action plans ò the Viet Nam library sector in the new stage.
At the meeting, leader of the Library Department stated a number of programs, tasks and action plans to implement the library activities such as: The digital transformation program of the library sector to 2025 with a vision to 2030 approved by the Prime Minister; activities to celebrate the Viet Nam Book and Reading Culture Day (April 21st annually) specified in the Library Law; Conferences of the library sector such as the conference to summarize children service activities in public libraries, contest “Search for Reading Culture Ambassador 2021”, etc… thereby, he also proposed a coordination between the two institutions. Leader of the NLV expressed the determination and hope that the coordination activities between the Library Department and the National Library of Viet Nam will be actively and closely implemented, thereby promoting and further enhancing the role and activities of the library sector in the coming time.
