On February 2, 2020, the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) hosted and coordinated with the Central Propaganda and Education Commissionand the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to organize a book exhibition celebrating the 90th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of VietNam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2020) at the National Library of Viet Nam(NLV).
Attending the exhibition were comrade Vo Van Thuong – Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of Central Propaganda and Education Commission; comrade Nguyen Manh Hung - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission, Minister of Information and Communications; comrade Nguyen The Ky - Member of the Party Central Committee, General Director of the Voice of Viet Nam, Chairman of the Central Council for the Theory and Criticism of Literature and the Arts; Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Nghia - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Director of the General Politics Departmentof the Viet Nam People's Army; comrade Hau A Lenh - Member of Party Central Committee, Vice President - General Secretary of Viet Nam Fatherland Front Central Committee; comrade Ta Quang Dong - Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; comrade Hoang Vinh Bao - Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, President of Vietnamese Publishing Association; comrade Kieu Thuy Nga - Party Committee Secretary, Director of the National Library of Viet Nam..., and representatives of some central departments, ministries and agencies.
At the opening remarks, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, President of Vietnamese Publishing Association – comrade Hoang Vinh Bao emphasized: 90 years ago, in the spring of 1930, the Communist Party of Viet Nam was founded, marking a crucial turning point in the history of our country's revolution. Since President Ho Chi Minh launched a revolutionary campaign, the very firstbooks and documents have become sharp weaponsin propaganda, education, enlightenmentandgathering all classes of people to rise up for the national liberation revolutions.
About 10,000 books published in different periodsare on displayed at the exhibition. In the central space, the NLV exhibits books on suchcontentsas: Communist Party of VietNam through the periods; Communist Party of Viet Nam with the resistance war for national liberation and reunification; Communist Party of Viet Namwith the renovation, development and international integration; Party constructionactivities; the Complete collection of Party Documents, V.I. Lenin Complete collection, Ho Chi Minh Complete collection.
Besides the exhibitionmain space, other outdoor activities also tookplace during the event including the display of typical book model; booths for selling and introducing books of the National Political Publishing House, the People’s Public Security Publishing House, the People's Army Publishing House, the Political Theory Publishing House, Information and Communications Publisher, Tre Publishing House..., andactivities of introducing new books, exchanges and talks with readers.
The exhibition takes place from February 2 -9, 2020.
