On the morning of August 31, 2023, in Ha Noi, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MoCST) held a ceremony to announce the appointment decisions. Mr. Nguyen Van Hung – Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism attended and chaired the event.

At the ceremony, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism handed over the decisions and presented flowers to congratulate the appointed officials. Mr. Nguyen Xuan Dung – Acting Director of the National Library of Viet Nam was presented the Decision No. 2532/QD-BVHTTDL dated August 30, 2023 to hold the position of Director of the National Library of Viet Nam from September 1, 2023 with a 5-year appointment term.

In the speech to congratulate and assign tasks to newly appointed officials, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung affirmed that in recent times, the personnel work has been carried out by the Party Civil Affairs Committee in the spirit of democracy, objectivity, transparency, fairness, and compliance with the correct procedures. In addition, the Minister emphasized that this appointment is an assignment of tasks by the organization and expressed his desire and hope that the appointed officers will continue to learn and improve their knowledge and professional qualifications, quickly adapt to the new working environment, promote the wealth of work experience and responsibility, build united and strong teams, and strive to overcome difficulties to complete all assigned tasks, without betraying the trust of the Party Civil Affairs Committee and the MoCST leaders.

On the same day, the NLV also held a ceremony to announce the Decision to appoint the Director of the National Library of Viet Nam with the participation of key staffs of the Library.

On behalf of all officials and workers of the NLV, Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Anh – Deputy Director respectfully sent to the new Director the congratulations to share joy and hope that under the guidance of him, along with the determination and efforts of the whole agency, the National Library of Viet Nam will turn a new page in the coming time.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Dung, the new Director expressed his honor and pride to be entrusted with the task by the Party Civil Affairs Committee and MoCST leaders. He also expresses his deep thanks to the generations of NLV’s leaders, employees and workers who have accompanied, shared and made efforts to overcome all difficulties and worked together to create a working environment full of solidarity so that the Library always successfully completes all assigned political tasks. He hopes that in the coming time, in addition to his own efforts, he will continue to receive the trust and support of the Party Civil Affairs Committee and leaders of the governed Ministry and his colleagues to build the Library towards a Traditional – Modern – Digital Library and the intellectual meeting point of the readers nationwide./.
