On August 29, 2014, the National Library of Viet Nam (NLV) held workshop Enforcement of copyright and related rights in library-information activities in Vietnam, the workshop is aimed to perform the task given by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism appointed for the NLV as chairman of this ministerial science study.

Attending theworkshop were representatives from the Department of Science, Technology and Environment, Bureau of Copyright; representatives of Viet Nam Library Association, Viet Nam Information and Documentation Association, libraries from provinces and cities, library - information center at the universities, specialized and multi-disciplinary libraries.

Copyright is a part of intellectual property rights, including a set of rights for creators over their works of science, literature and art. In the communication - library section, most of activities are related to copyright, from creating information resources, compiling information products to serving users.

Withabovemeanings, the workshop was organized for the purpose of evaluating the enforcement of copyright and related rights in the information-library activities in our country.

11reports and opinions of researchers, specialists and managers were presented at the workshop focusing on the exchange and discussion of core issues such as:

- Prescribed legislation on copyright, related rights and required-complete elements

- The opinionsof UNESCO, IFLA about copyright and related rights

- The implementation of copyright and related rights in professional activities at the information – library agencies. The measures were applied by libraries, information agencies as enforcing the copyright and related rights.

- Copyrightpayment related - issues when readers making copy and explore the library’s digital materials. Charge principles for users and payment structure for the authors who have materials are retrieved.

-Thetechnical solutions are applied by the libraries in order to manage the information resources of libraries, online information agencies.

- The forms should be conducted to enhance coordination and cooperation between libraries, information agencies and the authors and owners, the agencies, institutions whose have authorities in the implementation of copyright and related rights.
