In the morning of May 19, 2025, a delegation of officials from the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Library (China), led by Mr. Luo Yu, Party Secretary, visited and worked with The National Library of Viet Nam on the occasion of the Year of Viet Nam-China Humanistic Exchange. Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Anh, Deputy Party Secretary and Deputy Director of The National Library of Viet Nam, chaired the reception.

Overview of the working session

At the meeting, Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Anh gave an overview of the establishment and development process of The National Library of Viet Nam, and emphasized the outstanding features in the mission, functions and operational orientation of the Library with the role of the central library of the whole country. On this occasion, the Deputy Director reviewed some outstanding cooperation activities between Viet Nam and China in the library sector in recent times, especially material exchanging programs, professional training and signing of cooperation agreements.

The two sides had a lively and open discussion on issues of mutual interest, notably the digitization of materials, application of technology in exploiting documentary heritage, improving the efficiency of serving readers and developing modern library models.

At the end of the working session, the delegation of Guangxi Provincial Library visited the campus, reading rooms and exhibition space of The National Library of Viet Nam. The members of the delegation highly appreciated the warm welcome of The National Library of Viet Nam and expressed their desire to continue to strengthen exchanges and practical cooperation between the two sides in the coming time.

The visit contributes to strengthening the friendship and practical cooperation between the two libraries, and is also a concrete demonstration of the joint efforts in enhancing humanistic exchanges between Viet Nam and China.
