Function
- To announce the scientific researches on library science at home and abroad
- To inform, exchange and introduce library activities, propagate and disseminate the policies of the Vietnam Communist Party and the State and guidelines for the librarianship.
Tasks
- To make annual plan of the library’s operation and implement after approval
- To edit, publish and issue the journal accordance to license, regulations on press and direction of the Director of the National Library of Vietnam.
- To inform, propagate and promptly reflect guidelines, policies and laws of the State, direction of the Minister of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on management and national and local library activities.
- To inform, introduce scientific researches on library studies at home and abroad.
- To announce scientific – technological information at home and abroad which affect the library activities.
- To reflect, orient public opinion and readers; disseminate knowledge about library activities.
- To perform the role as a forum of librarians, managers, scientific researchers, library educators and of people interested in libraries.
- To organize library services and cultural activities
- To organize services and cultural activities appropriated with other social-cultural activities adapt with functions and tasks of the National Library of Vietnam and laws.
