With the aim to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the National Library of Viet Nam (1917-2017), approved by the Trade Union of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MoCST), the approval of Party Committee, Unit leaders, the NLV’s Trade Union successfully held the Trade Union Congress term 2017-2022 on 21st March, 2017.
Attending the congress, the NLV’s Trade Union was honored to receive Mrs. Nguyen Thi Lan - Chief of Office of the Party Committee of the MoCST, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Linh - Chairman of the MoCST’s Trade Union, Mr. Tran Huy Toan - Vice Chairman of the MoCST’s Trade Union, Mr. Nguyen Huu Gio - Former Chairman of MoCST’s Trade Union, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Huy - Vice Chairman of Trade Union of Cultural Affairs Department, representative of Cultural Heritage’s Trade Union. On the side of the National Library of Viet Nam, there were the presence of Mrs. Kieu Thuy Nga - Secretary of the Party Committee, Director of the NLV, deputy directors and all NLV members.
For the term 2011-2016, the National Library of Viet Nam has made many achievements in its activities such as: All staffs are always active in responding to emulation movements led by the Trade Union of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Execellent award from Trade Union for the outstanding achievements in the emulation movement and many certificates have confirmed the efforts of group - the close cooperation between the Party, Government and organizations, creating strength, solidarity unity throughout the unit. The enormous results achieved by the NLV's union members in the past term contributed to the overall development of the unit and also served as a basis for confirming the role of the NLV’s Union with other trade unions in the Ministry.
After reviewing the trade union activities for the 2011-2016 period, the Executive Board of the Trade Union outlines the direction of activities for the term 2017-2022, namely: To maintain and promote the achievements, to hold firmly the title of Excellent Trade Union; To focus on political and ideological education, to grasp the thoughts and aspirations, to pay attention to the implementation of policies and regimes for laborers, to raise the material and spiritual lives of trade unionists; To improve the quality of the emulation movements, discover new examples in the trade union activities, gather the strength of unite the whole unit to well implement targets with the highest efficiency; To coordinate with the authorities and mass organizations to foster the contingent of officials and employees with professional skills, political knowledge and high responsibility in management to meet the increasing requirements of the modern society; To focus on introducing the elite to the Party. To actively participate in social work, to create a strong foothold for the Vietnamese Libraries in general and the National Library of Viet Nam in particular in the domestic as well as international development and integration.
Speaking at the congress, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Linh, Chairman of the MoCST’s Trade Union, agreed with the report, acknowledged the proposals and praised the achievement of the NLV’s Trade Union in the 2011-2016 period. He also commented on the direction of action and pointed out some weak points needed to try harder in the next term.
After a serious and urgent working time, the Congress elected the new Executive Committee consisting of 07 comrades and 04 delegates to attend the Trade Union Congress of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in the fourth quarter of 2017.
The Trade Union Congress of the National Library of Viet Nam term 2017-2022 has been successful, opening a new term with new goals and challenges. With the close attention of the Party Committee, leaders of the unit, with the support and cooperation of the Trade Union of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the determination to maintain and promote the achievements achieved, the NLV’s Trade Union term 2017 -2022 expressed their determination to strive for many achievements, contributing to a stronger and stronger unit towards the 100th anniversary of the National Library of Vietnam.
