On December 12th, 2017, the National Library of Viet Nam (NLV) in cooperation with the Embassies of the Portuguese speaking countries in Viet Nam held the book donation ceremony from the Embassy of the four countries: Angola, Brazil, Mozambique and Timor Leste.
Attending the ceremony there were H.E. Mr.João Manuel Bernardo - Ambassador of the Republic of Angola; H.E. Mr. Marco Antonio Diniz Brandao - Ambassador of the Republic of Brazil; H.E. Ms. Pascoela Barreto dos Santos - Ambassador of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste; H.E. Mr. Gamiliel Sepúlveda João Munguambe - Ambassador of the Republic of Mozambique; Ms. Kieu Thuy Nga - Director of the NLV, together with officials and staffs from embassies, and Deputy Directors and Head of Divisions of the NLV.
These donated books include many topics such as: history, culture… which have been carefully selected from the Embassies and they will be added to the Portuguese and English books collection that are availableat the NLV.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Kieu Thuy Nga – NLV’s Director expressed a deep thank to the Embassies of the Portuguese speaking countries in Viet Nam for donating those valuable and meaningful books. This will be a valuable resource not only to facilitate the reading, especially for students who study and learn Portuguese, but also to help readers in Viet Nam have the opportunity to understand more about the country, people, and culture of beautiful places in the world.
